2026 Lucca Biennale Cartasia – Call for Proposals
Artists worldwide are invited to submit proposals for the Lucca Biennale Cartasia, held Summer 2026 in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. Artists will be awarded accommodation for the time required to complete the artwork; Round-trip travel expenses; Meal discounts and agreements; A prize of €1,000. A one-month artist residency is offered to create works with a predominant use of paper and cardboard. Selected works will be exhibited in the main squares of Lucca, and indoors in exhibition venues. Alternatively, artists may submit pieces, either already created or to be developed independently, for the Indoor Sections (Art, Fashion, Video Art, Design). Works must primarily use paper and its derivatives. Participants must submit a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 15 works. Digital works are accepted, including videos, films, and animation projects. Hayama Artist Residency
The Hayama Artist Residency offers visual artists from around the world a unique opportunity to spend four weeks (June 1-30, 2026) in Hayama, Japan, for rest, reflection, and creative inspiration. Selected artists will receive roundtrip airfare, a private bedroom, and a $800 USD stipend to support meals and local transportation. We welcome applications from visual artists working in any medium and at any stage of their career. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. $95 USD application fee. Deadline: September 30, 2025.
