Small Stones Festival of the Arts
Small Stones Festival of the Arts seeks entries for our juried fine art painting and fine art photography festival, Jan. 25 – Feb. 2, 2025 at the Brigham Hill Community Barn in North Grafton, MA. It is one of the largest exhibitions in the Central Massachusetts region. Jurors will select 144 pieces of artwork. A hardbound catalog dedicated to each of the artworks will also be published. $500 1st place; $300 2nd place & $100 3rd place for both fine art & photography categories. 3 Juror choice awards, each category. Wallkill River Center for the Arts in Montgomery, NY seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, December 20, 2024 – January 26, 2025. $300 Best in Show and four $50 Honorable Mentions. Juror: Carl Grauer. Portraits are forever. They capture the likeness of the human subject they are portraying. It may be through a visual similarity with the sitter or the ephemeral essence of the subject. Artwork work may range from realism to non-representational abstraction. Call for Artwork for GMCW Portraits Project – Trans and Nonbinary Artists
The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (GMCW) is seeking artwork by trans and nonbinary artists to be included as part of the “Portraits” project. Compensation to the artist for selected works is $2,500. Portraits represents through visual art, music, and dance, the spectrum of sexual, gender, racial, ethnic, and cultural identities. Paintings, drawings, and photographs are welcome. The artworks may be a portrait or a scene depicting an aspect of the human experience, including identity expression and historical references specific to the LGBTQ+ community. Photographs of selected artworks will be projected as part of a live performance, brought to life aurally by music inspired by the selected artwork, visually by GMCW’s 17th Street Dance Company. Artists may submit works from their existing portfolio, or the artist may submit a sample or sketch of a proposed work. If selected, completed works will be due April 4, 2025. M-NCPPC is actively seeking muralists, as well as artists proficient in mosaic tile, low-relief, and other installation media suitable for installations on exterior walls. Upstream Gallery Membership
Upstream Gallery in Hastings on Hudson, NY is currently welcoming membership applications from area artists. Submissions are reviewed each month. New members are voted into the gallery by a majority vote of the existing membership after an evaluation of work examined via the applicant’s website and actual examples of art submitted for review. Member artists are expected to participate in the operation of the gallery, which includes working at the gallery one or two days a month, installing, or taking down shows, helping with our newsletter or numerous other tasks and responsibilities.
